Opening your own business is at this instant the ideal choice for many people in the present fiscal climate as gratifying jobs become harder to get hold of, but before you use your life savings and invest it in your own bed and breakfast business. What do you need to be aware of?
Having your own business means you are no longer the individual who takes the instructions (or shouldn’t be); by all means be a nice boss take note of your staff (if you have any), pay attention to their recommendations and mull over the information they give to you. Now it’s your appointment as the boss to collate this understanding and put plans into action…”failing to plan is planning to fail.”
Be cautious when operating your own business – for definite you want to make money, but not at all costs. What are the costs of business compared with just being a worker? You have more duty to yourself, your relatives and employees if you have any – they are all dependent on you for their economic safety. Scary! Operating your own business habitually means working longer hours and you may not make any wealth from working those longer hours where formerly you may have got paid per hour/day. A guaranteed salary!
However having lots of money in the bank is a relief.
Were you one of those at school? Who’s class report said…”This one will never amount to much!” What a sensation that would be to go back into your old school and say to your old teacher – “look I’m running my own business now – how is the schooling going these days?”
